Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc has praised Indian team head coach Gautam Gambhir and described him as a great thinker of the game who gives priority to the success of his team. Starc has worked with Gambhir in Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in IPL 2024. Gambhir was the mentor of KKR this season. However, he was later appointed coach of the Indian team. A five-match Test series is also to be played between India and Australia from next month.
