Sports Minister Surendra Mehta said that the government is continuously working towards promoting sports in the state. At the same time, he reiterated the commitment of the state government to pay special attention to disabled cricket. Mr. Mehta was addressing the gathering after inaugurating the eighth Men's T20 National Deaf Cricket Championship at Urja Stadium on Sunday. He said that the government will provide full support in organizing such tournaments in future. The Minister also unveiled the trophy and declared the tournament open while encouraging all the players to perform well. JDU National General Secretary and former IAS officer Manish Kumar Verma, Sports Director Mahendra Kumar, Indian Deaf Cricket Association (IDCA) President Sumit Jain and Secretary Santosh Kumar Rai etc. were present on the occasion.

National level championship for the deaf with participation from 19 states

IAS officer Santosh Kumar Rai IDCA welcomed all the guests and teams from 19 states. He said that this is the first time in the history of Bihar that a national level championship for the deaf is being organized with the participation of 19 states. . Hence, it is a matter of great pride. IDCA President Shri Sumit Jain promised that IDCA will try to organize at least one tournament in Bihar in future and international deaf teams will also come to play international tournaments.
