For Bangladesh, Tauheed Hridaya scored 63 runs in 42 balls and Liton Das scored 42 runs in 25 balls but the rest of the batsmen could not perform. Before this, India made the second highest score in the history of T20 cricket. India surpassed the score of 278 runs for three wickets made by Afghanistan against Ireland in Dehradun in 2019. The record of highest team score in T20 cricket is in the name of Nepal which had scored 314 runs.

Earlier, India's highest score in T20 cricket was 260 runs for five wickets, which was made against Sri Lanka in Indore in 2017. For India, Samson scored 111 runs in just 47 balls with the help of 11 fours and eight sixes, which is the second fastest T20 century by an Indian after Rohit Sharma (35 balls). Captain Suryakumar Yadav scored 75 runs in 35 balls which included eight fours and five sixes. Both of them made a partnership of 173 runs for the second wicket.
