Chamari Athapaththu and Harshitha Samarawickrama together handled the innings. Sri Lankan team scored 115 runs after losing five wickets in 20 overs. For Sri Lanka, captain Chamari Athapaththu played the highest innings of 35 runs. Apart from Chamari Athapaththu, Harshita Samarawickrama scored 18 runs.

Eden Carson gave the first success to the New Zealand team. For New Zealand, Amelia Kerr and Leigh Kasperek took the maximum of two wickets each.
